Minimum Requirements and Translation Process
Translation Process - A Collaborative Approach
We are committed to an open, ISO17100-compliant working translation process at EMPOWER Translate. This means that all documents are translated and evaluated (edited/proof-read). Our standard process is to create synergistic teams of translators and evaluators (editors/proof-readers), who communicate together freely during the translation process.
To this end, we employ the following 5-step process as standard:
Stage 1: Forming a translator-evaluator team
The material for translation is made freely available to all suitably-qualified translators and evaluators and is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis
Stage 2: Translation
Once the material is translated, our CAT tool will automatically notify the evaluator that they may start
Stage 3: Evaluation
The evaluator carries out their task adding any comments for review. Once complete, our CAT tool will automatically notify the translator that the materials are ready for their final input and review. The evaluator is also asked to complete a form on various aspects of the translation via our Supplier Dashboard
Stage 4: Review by translator
The translator reviews the evaluator’s comments and accepts or rejects them as they see fit, before signing off the final translation
Stage 5: EMPOWER in-house review
Our in-house team review the translation and finalise it for the client. In case of query, we will revert to both the translator and the evaluator in a transparent communication for resolution.
All communications are copied in to your Empower Project Manager, and a full copy of all files at each stage of the process - together with the evaluator’s comments and assessment - are available on request and as relevant.
If, for any reason, this process seems uncomfortable, then we may not be the right agency for you. However, if our commitment to quality and open communication resonates and you can cover translating or evaluating (proofreading/editing) in our key area of Market Research, we would be delighted to receive your website application form.
We would also ask you to read through our website and make a short statement in support of your application to let us know why you would like your services to be considered specifically. You will be invited to provide this towards the end of the application form.
